APEDA Registration (RCMC)

APEDA issues the Registration-Cum-Membership Certificate (RCMC) required to export scheduled agricultural and processed food products — fruit, vegetables, meat, dairy, cereals, confectionery and more. It is both a licence and the door to APEDA's export incentive schemes.

Issued by
APEDA (Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority)
Typical time
5–15 working days
Government fee
APEDA's registration fee plus GST, paid to the authority at actuals
Validity
Five years

Who needs it

Anyone exporting a product on APEDA's scheduled list. Customs will not clear scheduled products without it, and APEDA's financial assistance schemes for packaging, transport and market development are only open to registered exporters.

Documents required

  • IEC certificate
  • Bank certificate in APEDA's prescribed format, signed by the bank
  • Cancelled cheque
  • PAN and GST registration
  • Details of the products you intend to export

How it works

  1. 1

    Confirm your products are scheduled

Not every food product is on APEDA's list — some fall under the Spices Board, MPEDA or other councils. We check before you pay anything.

  2. 2

    Bank certificate

We give your bank APEDA's exact format. A bank certificate in the wrong format is the usual reason an APEDA application bounces.

  3. 3

    File the application

Filed on APEDA's portal with the fee paid at actuals.

  4. 4

    RCMC issued

Typically 5–15 working days. Valid for five years, and we diarise the renewal.

After it is issued

Eximly's Agri add-on tracks the certificates, MRL screening and buyer documentation that APEDA-scheduled exports depend on.

Frequently asked questions

How much does APEDA registration cost?

APEDA charges a registration fee plus 18% GST, paid to the authority. We pass that through at actuals and quote our service fee separately.

How long is APEDA RCMC valid?

Five years from the date of issue, after which it must be renewed.

Is APEDA registration mandatory?

Yes, if your product is on APEDA's scheduled list. Customs clearance for scheduled products depends on it.

Do I need a CA for APEDA registration?

No. The application is filed by you or your authorised representative; the bank certificate comes from your bank, not from an accountant.
